Question by Desiree: Were the first Protestant Christians who had bibles written in their language disappointed?

I mean, these people fought long and hard against the Roman Catholic Church to have bibles translated into their language. When they sat down and actually read the bible, did they think, “This is a load of crap! I can’t believe we fought wars to have the right to read this stupid book!”?

I doubt it because the society of that time (1500s) would have had them killed immediately. That was when Bloody Mary (Mary I) was burning protestants at the stake.
